Libertad es Abstracto

Libertad es Abstracto

la pintura es vivir en el sueƱo
de darle importancia a la nada
pensar en el mas alla, tan
lejos despues de tu muerte

querida vida no te canses

POETRY NOT INCLUDED

The Artist Blabber Mouth

Its a new thing, science and art,
doesn't have to look like art to be art,
if you turn on the tv , thats art, as is the food on the table,
its a reflection of what I see and what you see,
when you see me,
in some definition, of somesorts what culture, and when art becomes functional,
as a part of me as reflected in its color scheme.

As I drip and spray, the stroke of the brush, it loosens the mind
and desolves periodically into a inconsistant, picture of what life is.
A commercial art race against post modern art, till the day people walk by
and not recognize it exist.

cgg COMMENT: CALL OUT FOR ART.....

Anyone catch this comment below... , call out for art....

"There too many good artists in our area who are not given the opportunity to present their artwork and do not get respect. But in a way we shoot ourselves in the foot by not working together and on many occasions bad mouthing. I would like and encourage those of you who live the dream to work together and create a data base of Brownsville artists. Those interested please submit a simple digital portfolio with a bio, resume, artist statement and at least 10 high quality jpegs. I do curate and have contacts with outside groups who have an interest in Brownsville art/artist. I have no political ties or hidden agendas. To me it is all good and we all deserve a shot at it….art is that big. By the way did anybody catch the 60 Minutes interview of Julian Schnabel…he rules "…cgg

SE VALE PINTAR

"Se vale pintar " , a recent idea that everything is possible to turn into art, and art challanges you to use your creativity, for those painting without a clue of what they are doing.

Has a new style of art emerged from all the local artist of the Rio Grande Valley and how near is the local production as a whole to the art of tomorrow ? Is there a trend at hold where we imitate each others work, hopelessly , unconsciously repetitively ? Is there an economic hold on local artist? Do we have the tools to really practice art in modern ways beyond the sketching on paper or easel painting, or even worst scrounging around for trash or industrial left over objects to use as a medium of art. Ever find yourself shopping for discounted spray paint, or oops bad mix paint at the local Wal-Marts and Home-Depot's ?
Is the trend do with what you gots...?

How much do you as a local artist recycle your work, or find new use for scrap trash and turn into your art ?

Is this trend perhaps due to state and local educational funding for better art classes? Just as we are with sports seasons do we need art seasons ? More trips to museums, more exposure to art, more supplies, better facilities ????

What kind of art education and exposure have you had growing up locally ? Tell us your story ..
