I only got a chance to visit the Instituto Cultural De Mexico exhibiting paintings by Jose Luis Cuevas a self-taught drawer, engraver and sculptor , who I was told by the director is said to be one of the most important artist of Mexico who broke into with cubism, his wife Beatriz del Carmen Cuevas also exhibiting her paintings and "gabados de Pablo Picasso" work by Picasso, work from The Jose Luis Cuevas Museum in Mexico City www.saculturamexico.org
also exhibiting photos from "El NiƱo Fidencio de Espinazo, Nuevo Leon.

I didn't see anything local that stood out around the Alamo..There was a festival going on but mostly everything being sold was imports from Mexico "artesanias" hecho a mano, the shops too pushing them to tourist, they are pushing Mexican imports like crazy,at the Market Square too, which I thought was interesting to note how in Brownsville our Historic downtown, how moslty eveything pushed is MADE IN KOREA and or JAPAN.

you need to get out more man, go to the bluestar complex. Cuevas in not self-taught, the director is wrong. He started the ruptura movement in Mexico city, look it up.
