Oppenning night at the Brownsville Historic Museum for Saul Kaminer "Retrospective" Art Exhibition was a big success in the eyes of the Amigos Artistas and the attended general public. In attendance were several high ranking elected officials such as the Mayor Eddie TreviƱo who delivered a small speech and a hand shake in show of support. Saul Kaminer was pleased and spoke of how he was happy to have been invited by DR. R. Montalvo President of Amigos Artistas and owner of several Kaminer paintings, to this wonderful city of Brownsville to exhibit his artwork and to promote the idea and foundation of Charro Days friendship of two countries and culture. The exhibit is to remain in Brownsville for a month and then will be moved to Matamoros Tamps. Mexico for another month.
The painting style of Kaminer is surrealist, abstract and contemporary. The images are complex ideas and concepts of human, heritage and spiritual beleives. Antinori, a local artist of Brownsville, and I spoke to Saul Kaminer about his paintings and interpretations. It was a pleasant thing to speak to an artist like Kaminer because he seemed humble and willing to explain his work. We spoke to him about rising art scene here in Brownsville and thanked him for accepting the invitation.
I thank all those involved in bringning him here to Brownsville. Kaminer is a great painter and human being. If you like Dali, Picasso, Diego Rivera, and Chagall I recommend everyone out there to check out Saul Kaminer artwork at the Brownsville Historic Museum.
