From the makers of "Ghost World" and "Bad Santa" comes the movie "Art School Confidential" based on an
original comic strip of the same name by the screenplay writer and comic artist
Daniel Clowes. This movie is a parody so it will have the obvious art school stereotypes but I couldn't help but laugh and recognize some elements. Ah, I am probably biting my own tongue here. Art school is a great experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. But check out the movie if you ever want to have a laugh and recognize some of those elements as well.

Some of the odd and memorable situations I found myself in in Art School:
* Buying unmatching pairs of shoes at GoodWill for "shoe installations"
* Digging a hole in the ground in the shape of the Rio Grande River next to a creek...(an experemint in "environmental grafitti art")
* Dug that hole again by the real river 3 months later, put the dirt in a museum for display
* Dumpster Diving for plastic tarp, painted on it with latex and tempera paint, only to have the painting ruined in the rain
* Had rotted bananas stolen from an aging fruit stillife I was working on for 3 weeks (probably a distempered janitor)
* Suspected of taking a pair of shoes from someone else's stilllife ( as if! )
* Ran a campus-wide flyer campaign asking people to donate their shoes, had 11 pairs of shoes donated
* Went to a psychic for Performance Art class research
* Learned to read tarot and read palms to set up The Psychic Drive Through (yes, like a fast food one) with my friend Susan as a "performance art" piece
* Charged $1 for each reading
* Set up a booth at an art fair, charged people $2 to draw them a shoe
* Got yelled at by a model after I made him move his hand about 7 times to get it back to its original position
