"Untitled' by Cande Aguilar

"Untitled"
2008 plastic bags on panel wrapped with industrial plastic wrap, 75x66inches
Here is the peice I was talking about..which was on display at the "Green Dream " art exhibit at Galeria 409..which I thought stood out the most of that show.. truly work that , well here is what I said earlier to the artist : "this peice is everything art stands for.... you don't have to explain it , you just have to look at it, to know, that dam painting makes you feel alive".. which is kind of cool notice that I said painting because asthetically it imitates his most common style of abstract expressionist. I think he had this peice priced at about $2,000.00 at the exhibit, honestly it didn't bother me.. I actually thought this peice could command it, when you look at his work as a whole, it could be debated., that said great peice this one..

it is what it is...basura

That is exactly the point, basura, millions uppon millions created by big corporations, of course the comsumer is at fault here for not recycleing, we are at a turning point reforming environmental laws, aside that cup of tea... Note the way he uses the texture and colors to creat the abstract forms, incorporating company logos, typical of Cande's work, kinda reinventing his work, the act of creation is the same dip the brush into paint for white or green , well in this case you choose a green bag or a white one, in other words questioning paint or bag what is the difference??. A step further progression to an art movement "evolution", of course now that he made it anyone can say well that is easy..is just "basura", perhaps to the untrained eye..

your observation too is basura. everything has color, texture and form. in this case the garbage. there is nothing abstract or artistic about it. as for the untrain eye what is your level of education gt-taob? the problem is that eveyone things that anything is art and eveyone things they are experts. anyone can say anything and do anything that does not mean it is art. if that was the case the art world is in trouble and i think it is.

Well lets start with it must be good enough for your time to read it..

For me the work clearly expresses the frustration towards the destruction and pollution of this earth, he overwelms the use of plastic bags, sufficating them in wrap perhaps the viewers thoughts aswell.. conceptual art at some point ...but if you still think that is not artistic or in any sense post modern art, then, hey sorry taob readers,............. nah I am not, in my opinion it is..

as for my education..what do you want to know?
I like to study local artists and write about it..it should be obvious to you just look at the blog, I have been working on this blog going on about 4years, but every year I do this I feel I understand art a little bit more, but never will I say I am an expert, I'll have to leave that word to those who graduate with a formal education from an accredited school,...me well.I am an independent..self-taught..

What about you..? How many local artists and their work do you know personally, how many shows have you attended locally ? or much simple lets start with your name can you spell that ?

I attended UTB many, many moons ago...but did not get any certifications...until recently for industrial purposes..nothing to do with art..

I do admire those who have graduated as Fine Arts majors from UTB I think there is several great art teachers with the knowledge to make big changes and truly make a difference in the community. It is one of the reasons that I do the TAOB blog..its open to help them and the community..and entertain you..missssssssue anonymous...

How about you, can't seem to learn how to spell your name yet ? You should try going to college...I recomend UTB ..
