"There is most certainly a positive attitude going forward..I don't beleive in dwelling in the past, but that we learn from it and move on." GT
I wouldn't say I will be running TAOB different from before.. but surely more expiremental, push it to the edge, perhaps as an art form. I question the idea that this site can be about both life and art. The reason I say that is because I can't help but think as to how one influences the other.
I haven't heard or seen much art or anyone with the exception of Amigos Artistas -Art in the Park Sept. 13 - which was I think another successful annual event. Eduardo Ibarra taking first place : $500.00 award followed by Noe Palmanez. as judged winners of the event.. One of the guest judges was Carlos G. Gomez. Congratulations gentlemen., Alot of art, alot new faces at this event, and to the surprise of many, alot of people buying art, which was a good thing..
Chicano Art -at Rusteburg Gallery, I went by today 9/24 - but noted Gallery now closes at 5pm.. bummer for the 9-5 working man. I had to window watch the show. One of the things I noted, which I like is that prints are exhibited framed without the glass. Which always helps, cuts out the glare which steals away from the imagery . It also gives the viewer a chance to appreciate the textures and colors.
13th Annual Brownsville Latin Jazz Festival coming up "October 8th to 11th-2009".
