“Line and Circle” Senior Show by Jose M. Parga and Christian E. Wilcox

· Location: The Art Gallery in the Rusteberg Building at UTB/TSC

· Exhibition: Runs from November 16 to December 4 , 2009

· Admission Fee: $1.00

· Opening reception: Monday, November 16, 2009: 6:30PM

University of Texas Brownsville/Texas Southmost College seniors, Christian Edward Wilcox of Harlingen by way of San Antonio and Jose M. Parga of Matamoros will open their B.F.A show at the Gallery at Rusteberg. Wilcox describes his work, “The circular patterns present in my work can represent a variety of things. In some works they represent life energy. Vivid color is a prevalent factor in my work. The combination of competing color is generally how I determine my color palette,” Jose M. Parga says of art, “I have nothing against subject matter or people who use it in their work, for I have used myself, but I have found out that sometimes subject matter gets in the way of truly expressing yourself.” Both of these exemplary students will present their work at the opening of their show on Monday, November 16, 2009. Light refreshments will be served.
