How About Dwayne Neece?
you need a pro, one who has a degree in that field and has a proven track record. either way, people will still protest
Yes, How about Mark Clark?
It is Not even Important to exhibit you art in Brownsville, Nobody Will ever Know about it, and you will get only Frustrated; If You really want to be Know, Please Exhibit out of the Valley, and Northern Mexico !!!
Thats like saying: you shouldn't exhibit your art in America no one in Europe will care for it...certainly American artist have made their place in the art world look at what came out of New York - Andy Warhol in example.
We live on the border and are part of an Mexican-American culture, yeah you should continue to exhibit in Brownsville, where else would you be understood more, perhaps even stronger..,the combination of our region, culture, struggle adds flavor to the work, "el chile"...
For me it would be exciting to see Chicano and Post Chicano Art movements exhibits by: Vincent Valdez, Luis Jimenez, George Yepez, Carmen Lomas Garza to name a few who are out exhibiting all over the US , bring a big exhibition to the valley - "BMFA"would be nice...perhaps it would resonate better than it would elsewhere...

My TSC/ UT - B art teachers Always used to mentioned, that If we Artists / painters from Brownsville and Be Noticed and maybe someday Will become famous, That the best thing for Us , Was to Move Back to Mexico and That Was The Only way of Asuring a Succesful career, Because the Dominant Anglos Do not reallly want any Mexican - American to be Succesful and Famous in this U.S.A. Country; Specially if we Were Born in The Rio Grande Valley.
Well Now, That's Very True !
Also, We Have The " POBRECITO M'IJO, and the ONE - DOLLAR MENTALLITY " ... where We always want things Free and Cheap !!!
whats wrong with that, look where it has gotten, our black brothers. a little crying, a little self pity and some rioting and and taking the opressor to court works, we need more of this. most all minority success stories have this formula in it's matrix
Why Don'T We Mexican - Americans ?
we are not willing to sacrafic
