Etsy.com: Buy local handmade from home

Don't waste time at the mall looking for the perfect gift. Don't even waste time getting dressed. With etsy.com at your fingertips, harried shoppers can browse thousands of unique handmade items and give a present that will really impress even the most impossible recipient, and you don't even have to get out of your jammies.

Check out the stores from local Brownsville sellers:

Etsy.com, founded in 2005, has sold $1.7M worth of goods as of May 2007 and is giving sites like Ebay a run for their money.

Here's a cute video on how to do it.

For you artists and crafters out there, here's another way to get your creations out to a worldwide audience. Just a warning, be prepared to become addicted.

Thought the blog wasn't going in this "commercial" direction

Hi thanks for the nod to my lil shop. Oh and the whole point to Etsy is that it features handmade or direct from the artist art or craftwork. While Etsy is a sizeable business entity, it's cost for listing are small and rather reasonable to artist who are trying to at least fund their art "habit".It is also a viable tool for artists who desire an online venue for self promotion and possible sales of their art.
